STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION (S.G.A.)
The Student Government Association (S.G.A.) is recognized as the official representative voice of the student body at the American University in Dubai.
The S.G.A. serves as a liaison between administration and students and plays an active role in planning and coordinating student activities. SGA have a budget in the Student Affairs financial plan. They plan larger events than clubs and they assist in Student Affairs big events such as Orientation, Gala dinner etc. They plan usually 1 or 2 small events per month and one big event per semester such as pool party, Halloween, spring festival etc.
They also conduct one or two Townhalls per Month and one Forum per semester.
In Townhalls, the SGA members collect comments/feedbacks/requests from students and they share it with the AUD management through meetings with head of departments. All those answers will be given in every next Townhall and in the Forum.
The purpose of the club is to spread awareness among AUD students about the importance of implementing sustainably in their everyday life, to make students understand environment and environmental problems and to utilize the unique position of students as conduits for awareness and agents of change of the society at large.
The uniqueness of the club is that is directly engaging with the students to help live a greener life. The club offer programs and activities to encourage students to reduce pollution, plant trees, and more.
