The American University in Dubai, in cooperation with the Department of Community Programs at the Hemaya International Center in Dubai Police, organized the "Protect Yourself Campaign."
Among the esteemed guests were Dr. David A. Schmidt, President of AUD; Mr. Elias Bou Saab, Executive Vice President of AUD; Major General Ahmed Rafi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administration Affairs; Colonel Abdullah Al-Khayyat, Director of Hemaya International Center; Colonel Issa Ahmed Salem, Deputy Director of Al Barsha Police Station; and Colonel Dr. Mansour Al Balushi, Director of the Recruitment Department at Dubai Police.
The events were attended by members of the administrative staff, faculty and the students.
The activities began with a presentation by the cavalry team, the band, and the police dogs that detected drugs and explosives in front of the audience.
In the gymnasium, the attendees observed the presentations of the departments participating in the campaign, including the Hemaya International Center, the Dubai Health Police Station, the Community Development Authority, and the Emirates Foundation for Health Services, in addition to the Secretary’s Service, the Positive Spirit Initiative, and the Community Police.
The dispatch department and the Council of Universities and Colleges in Dubai Police also enlightened the students about the initiatives it implements in educating the public, in addition to the Dubai Police Athletes Council, electronic crimes, as well as the Roads and Transport Authority pavilion.
Workshops were also held in the presence of the students, in which representatives of Hemaya International Center, Irada Center, Al-Ameen Service and Cybercrimes participated.
First Lieutenant Ahmed Salem Al Kaabi, Head of the Community Programs Department, stated that Dubai Police selects a university every three months to implement the campaign, and the American University in Dubai was chosen to implement its first campaign this year.
