Dr. Rawan Ghali pursued her studies at Saint Joseph University of Beirut where she became the youngest researcher to hold a doctoral title in 2018. Her work on the influence of certain cognitive factors such as visual perception and attention on the translation process has been a turning point in research in Lebanon. Dr. Ghali has several publications, a rich history of professional conference presentations and experience serving as a supervisor of master theses.
Prior to joining the American University in Dubai, Dr. Ghali served as a Quality Assurance Officer and Assistant Professor of Translation since 2020 at Saint Joseph University Dubai. Dr. Ghali’s knowledge of and experience in Higher Educational Quality Assurance, Institutional Effectiveness, Research and Planning led her to being certified by the UAE Ministry of Education’s Commission for Academic Accreditation. Dr. Ghali has served several times as an External Review Team member with the CAA.
Apart from her mother tongue, Dr. Ghali is fluent in 5 more languages which include French, English, Italian, Spanish and Turkish. Dr. Ghali is also a professional pianist who enjoys playing music in her free time.
