Dr. Samar has recently joined AUD’s School of Business as part of the Business and AI program. Yet, she has been an integral member of the AUD community since 2007, when she first began serving as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Arts and Sciences.

Over the years, Dr. Samar has established an extensive record of multidisciplinary teaching across computer science, business and data analytics in various universities in the UAE, including AUD, Heriot-Watt University, and the University of Wollongong. Dr Samar is actively conducting scholarly research with peer-reviewed publications, while being dedicated to teaching to foster student engagement and advance institutional goals, with the objective of building impactful collaborations within academia and industry.

Dr. Samar’s research portfolio focuses on the field of Artificial Intelligence, with a particular emphasis on advancing conversational and virtual agents capable of responding to human emotional intelligence. Her work leverages machine learning techniques, including neural networks, recurrent neural networks, and natural language processing. In parallel, she pursues research in data analysis and operations research, where she develops statistical and quantitative models—often within Fuzzy environments—to evaluate and benchmark AI tools across multiple sectors.

Her scholarly contributions include numerous publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, as well as presentations at both local and international conferences. In addition, Dr. Samar actively serves the academic community as a reviewer for respected journals, further underscoring her commitment to advancing knowledge and practice in her field.
