Dr. Subramaniam Ponnaiyan joined the American University in Dubai in Fall 2014 as an Assistant Professor of Decision Sciences in the School of Business Administration. He has more than 15 years of teaching experience. Prior to joining AUD, he taught at the University of North Texas as an Adjunct Professor and worked as a Research Assistant for a Dallas-based supply chain company. Before moving to the U.S., he taught at KSR College of Technology in India. He also worked as an operations manager in an engineering industry.
His research focusses on the application of stochastic models in humanitarian supply chain management, maintenance contracts, inventory control and routing of vehicles. He has published research articles in International Journal of Production Research, Quality Management Journal, International Journal of Operations Management, and International Journal of Information and Operations Management Education.
