Dr. Reimara Valk is an Associate Professor of Management, American University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Dr. Valk has over 15 years of experience in teaching courses including Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, Project Management and Leading People and Managing Organizations. She has previously worked for profit and non-profit organizations in multicultural, global work environments in The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Australia, China, Malaysia, and Iraq.
Research endeavours
Dr. Valk’s research has published her work in journals, such as the Journal of Global Mobility, International Journal of Organizational Analysis, Employee Relations, European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, New Emirates Medical Journal, Journal of Lifestyle and SDG Review, Precision Nutrition, Arab Journal of Nutrition and Exercise.
Her research accomplishments have been officially recognized by AUD granting Dr. Valk the Provost’s Award for Outstanding Research in 2023.
Dr. Valk’s current research focuses on personalized precision-nutrition, the gut microbiome, functional integrative medicine and quality of life.

Dr. Valk is a certified Food & Nutrition scientist and a Gut Restoration Nutritional Adviser. She is currently enrolled in various courses to become a proficient academic researcher and clinical adviser in the fields of personalized precision-nutrition, the gut microbiome and functional, integrative medicine.
Hobbies
Dr. Valk has a zest for a healthy lifestyle, encompassing a healthy personalized diet and physical activity. She loves cycling, swimming, zumba, tennis, yoga. As a hobby, Dr. Valk engages in culinary experimentation to create nutrient-dense meals that enhance metabolic health.
