Madiha Hashmi

Dr. Hashmi is an Assistant Professor at the School of Arts and Sciences at the American University in Dubai (AUD). She has taught at several universities in the Middle East over the past ten years. Dr. Hashmi studies social judgements and is particularly interested in examining rapid impressions of speakers and leaders. Her research focuses on the role of nonverbal communication cues in making evaluative judgements of others in a blink of a second. Her work also extends to cross-cultural nuances in impression formation. She has published papers in several peer reviewed journals, the most recent ones being the Journal of Intercultural Communication Research and The Qualitative Report. She teaches public speaking at the American University in Dubai.

In her spare time, she likes to travel, read and talk politics.
