Italian-born Architect Annamaria Lambri earned her degrees in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, subsequently specializing in hospitality design.

With extensive experience in architecture and design, she has worked on a wide range of projects, including international exhibitions and high-profile commercial, residential, and hospitality developments in Italy and abroad.

Since relocating to the UAE in 2005, she has contributed to numerous prestigious projects, deepening her expertise and exploring a broad spectrum of design topics. She has played a key role in several major hospitality developments in collaboration with renowned international hotel operators. Her work spans the Gulf region, Asia, and Europe, establishing her as an experienced professional in the field of hospitality design.

In 2011, Annamaria joined the American University in Dubai (AUD), School of Architecture, Art, and Design (SAAD), as a full-time faculty member. Initially appointed as Assistant Professor of Interior Design, she was later promoted to Associate Professor. A highly engaged member of the department, she contributed to numerous academic initiatives and student-centered design challenges. Notably, she played an instrumental role in the creation and development of the Hospitality Design Concentration within the Interior Design program.

From 2017 to 2023, she served as Outreach Coordinator for the Interior Design department, developing strong collaborations with leading industry partners to bridge academia and professional practice. In 2023, she was appointed Chair of the Interior Design department. Annamaria was recognized with AUD Provost’s Awards for Professional Engagement and Community Outreach (AY 2017–18 and AY 2021–22), and for Creativity in Design and the Visual Arts (AY 2024–25).

Her research focuses on human-centered design, with a particular emphasis on the evolution and impact of hospitality design. She actively contributes to the academic community as an abstract reviewer for international conferences and maintains a strong presence in both research and practice.

She holds several distinguished certifications, including the Leaders of Learning program from Harvard University. She is an AIA International Associate (American Institute of Architects), a RIBA Chartered Member (Royal Institute of British Architects), and a member of IDEC (Interior Design Educators Council).

Annamaria serves on various academic and industry committees and is regularly invited as a jury member for international design competitions. She is also a speaker at numerous local and international conferences, workshops, seminars, and industry events in interior design and architecture.
