Dr. Abdalla is an Associate Professor of Architecture at AUD with over 20 years of academic and professional experience in architecture, sustainability, and urban design. He previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Khartoum and has acted as an external examiner for leading universities across Africa and the Middle East. His research focuses on sustainable architecture and on bridging the gap between theory and practice in design education, with publications in international journals and conferences. Beyond academia, he is the founder of Abubakr Engineering Consultants, where he has led projects in education, healthcare, and mixed-use developments in Sudan. He is a Fellow of the Sudanese Institute of Architects and the Cambridge Commonwealth Society, and a recipient of the AUD President’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2025).
