Dr. Nezar Andary is established as an academic, filmmaker, film programmer, and curator. His films have screened all over the world, including his last award winning film, Unlocking Doors of Cinema (2020) that screened in over 20 festivals. He was creative executive the Arab Film Studio program where he has produced over 20 short films. He is widely published in literature and history and currently co-edits a books series for Palgrave entitled Focus on Arab Cinema. At Zayed University, Andary was a Dean of Research and Outreach for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and he taught classes in film and literature. As Artistic Director, he has curated the 5 film programs as the artistic director of the Al Sidr Environmental Film Festival. He is also artistic director of the Performing Books Season with the House of Wisdom in Sharjah. He also curated an exhibit on the well-known photographer, Chris Jordan. Currently, he is developing two feature fiction film projects entitled No Barking and The Guilt Project.
