Iyad Alsabouni joined AUD in 2023 and currently serves as Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Science in Game Design and Development. He played a key role in the development and launch of the program, contributing to its curriculum, industry partnerships, and academic direction.

With more than 20 years of professional experience, he began his career as an animator and comic artist before transitioning into game art. He has worked with Japanese game studios on adaptations of major anime and manga intellectual properties and has collaborated with independent game studios worldwide as a game artist and art consultant.

Alsabouni holds a PhD in Design from Kyushu University, Japan. His research explores creative design methodologies for game art and character development, with particular emphasis on pareidolia, controlled visual ambiguity, and divergent ideation. His work has been presented at international journals and conferences such as ADADA, IASDR, and Springer Nature.
