Professor Iyad Alsabouni joined AUD in 2023 and has since played a key role in the development and launch of the Bachelor of Science in Game Design and Development.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, he began his career as an animator and comic artist before transitioning into game art. Over the years, he has worked with Japanese game studios and contributed to adapting several major anime and manga intellectual properties (IPs) into video game form. In addition, he has collaborated with several indie game studios worldwide as a game artist and art consultant.
As an academic, Professor Alsabouni focuses on computer graphics, visual storytelling, and creative design methodologies, particularly their application in game art. He is an active researcher, publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals and presenting in international conferences, including ADADA (Asia Digital Art and Design Association) and IASDR (International Association of Societies of Design Research).
