The American University in Dubai recently welcomed Ambassador Barbara Leaf for a campus visit where she was greeted upon her arrival by President Dr. Lance de Masi who presented a global overview of the AUD community.

The Ambassador was later joined by the Consul General of the US Embassy Mr. Paul Malik for a campus tour during which every School dean presented their respective programs to the Ambassador and Consul General, discussing in class lab work and facilities, as well as detailing where students and alumni have reached today.

The tour was followed by a lunch with the President Dr. de Masi, AUD Provost - Dr. Jihad S. Nader, Dean of Student Services - Dr. Robin Anke, and the heads of the academic units.

Ambassador Leaf then met with Clinton Scholars who are currently on a study abroad semester from the US, where they had the chance to ask the Ambassador questions on US politics and foreign policy.

It was great to visit AUD and see the beautiful campus and impressive facilities. I had the pleasure of meeting with President de Masi, the Deans, and the Clinton Scholars; it really highlighted the great cooperation between US and UAE higher education institutions in furthering educational exchanges,” commented U.S. Ambassador Barbara A. Leaf‎.

The visit was an opportunity for the Ambassador to become acquainted with the community and Schools and to sustain AUD’s strong relationship with the US Embassy and Consulate in the UAE.
