The School of Arts and Sciences at AUD welcomed guest speaker Sultan Al-Hajji as part of a public lecture on Corporate Social Responsibility in the Middle East.

Mr. Sultan Al-Hajji, Vice President of Institutional Development, Total UAE outlined his company’s successes in achieving a positive social impact in the Middle East through its CSR initiatives. With extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, Al-Hajji explained how Total balances meeting energy needs with its efforts to combat climate change, improve access to energy, support corporate philanthropy, and promote diversity.
 
Prof. Trevin Stratton, Assistant Professor of International Studies at AUD commented that: “Mr. Al-Hajji’s talk is representative of AUD’s partnerships in the local community and commitment to the stable and sustainable development of the UAE.”
 
The event demonstrated how the oil and gas industry not only benefits the economy, but also contributes to the social development of the UAE.
