About a year ago architecture announced their intentions to introduce VR into the BIM courses. One year later, thanks to Dr. Hendrik Wahl, a talented professor of Digital Media, Professor Alex Albani, a pioneer in digital design in the region, and dedicated IT technicians Mr. Nikhil Rao and Mr. Fakruddin Ali Ahmed, AUD can experience fantastic VR experiences on the ground floor of Building A.
For the School of Architecture, Art and Design (SAAD) this is certainly a milestone, as the school’s students can experience the space they are designing, before they transfer their ideas into reality. VR is a valued tool for SAAD students as it creates a clearer representation of the city landscape without visual pollution.
Even more exciting, this coming year Interior Design will introduce a simulation suit to help students virtually and physically experience disabilities and design accordingly.
