As part of the virtual reality course "DDFT 473 - Virtual Environments," AUD students at the School of Architecture, Art and Design designed virtual homes for the metaverse inspired by Salvador Dali's art. The course teaches students how to design inside virtual reality where they spend more than 50 hours and become VR Sketch Certified from the AUD Center for Research, Innovation and Design (CRID) as the first and only authorized VR sketch training center and Gravity Sketch certified center in the MENA region. . This course, in addition to more VR-related courses, addresses different disciplines, such as product design, industrial design and virtual art.

Dr. Chenaf's quote:

The CRID is the first and only Authorized VR Sketch Training Center and Gravity Sketch Certified Center in the MENA region. DDFT 473 - Virtual Environments could not have seen the light without the virtual reality setup that was established in the Center. The course was designed and executed by Dr. Georges Kachaamy who is a certified instructor and an expert in future and virtual environments. One can confidently argue, looking at students' work, that the innovative nature of the course has clearly enabled students to explore new design competencies and skillsthat prepare them for a very competitive market.

Dr. Kachaamy's quote:

It was an interesting journey to see how the students used their creativity, technological skills, and innovative ideas in order to design a virtual space inside virtual reality for the metaverse. I believe this course gives our students an edge that is unique and can open many opportunities for them in the future.
