Interior Design Global Seminar: Study Tour to Italy

The IDES 380 Global Seminar offers Interior Design students a unique international learning experience through a study tour to Milan, Italy, one of the world’s premier design capitals. This immersive course is designed to broaden students' cultural and professional perspectives through direct exposure to Italian design excellence, innovation, and heritage.

Planned activities Include:

  • An exclusive visit to the Lamborghini Headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, offering behind-the-scenes insights into one of the most iconic brands in automotive design.
  • A customized Design Workshop conducted in collaboration with POLI.design, Politecnico di Milano, providing hands-on experience with one of Europe’s leading design institutions.
  • iGuzzini Day, featuring an in-depth exploration of lighting design through access to the Lighting Experience at iGuzzini's Milan headquarters-showroom, and visits to select projects showcasing iGuzzini's award-winning lighting solutions.
  • Presentations from leading design brands in Milan, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with contemporary design leaders and gain insight into emerging trends and professional practice.
  • Visits to Milan’s most significant historical landmarks.

The Global Seminar is led and curated by Ms. Annamaria Lambri, Chair of the Department of Interior Design and Associate Professor at the American University in Dubai, with the support of Lamborghini Abu Dhabi & Dubai, POLI.design, Politecnico di Milano, iGuzzini, and several prestigious design brands. Mr. Edoardo Rizzuti, Assistant Professor of Interior Design, mentors and supports the tour.
