FALL AND SPRING SEMESTER:
It is mandatory for all Fall and Spring visiting students to apply for a Student Residence Visa from AUD (except for UAE and GCC nationals).
Students should apply for the visa 2 months prior to the start of the semester by contacting the Admissions Office at admissions@aud.edu.
As part of the visa process, students are required to enroll in the AUD-sponsored health insurance plan. The residence visa has to be cancelled at the end of the semester before leaving the UAE.
SUMMER SESSIONS:
Students joining AUD for Summer session only (7 weeks), should check with the UAE embassy in their home country for the visa requirement. Depending on the type of passport the student is holding, there are different types of visas available to visit the UAE.
It is mandatory for students to provide proof of insurance, that covers them in the UAE during their entire stay. Please e-mail your insurance details to healthcenter@aud.edu
Please note that it is the student’s responsibility to check these options, requirements, rules and regulations with the UAE Embassy in their home country. AUD will not be liable or held responsible for any violations, or any complications that might occur due to the fact that the immigration rules might change from time to time during the student’s stay in Dubai.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND PROCESS:
Additional fees: These are applicable only to students who enter the UAE with another type of visa (tourist, etc.) and apply for an AUD Student Residence Visa while in the UAE.
Visa processing usually takes 3 to 4 working days. Delays may occur at the Department of Naturalization and Residency Dubai (DNRD).

**Passport Deposit is refundable upon cancellation of visa.
***For new students, health insurance will be activated once the visa process is finalized. In the meantime, students are advised to have an alternative insurance to cover them for any emergency.
CANCELLATION FEE:
AUD-sponsored students who complete their semester(s) at AUD should contact the Visa Officer at +971 4 318 3128 to process their visa cancellation two weeks prior to leaving the UAE. These fees are subject to change without notice by the UAE government authorities.
Students sponsored by AUD for a student resident visa, who fail to comply with the AUD visa regulations, or who exit the country without going through the proper channels and cancellation procedures will not be entitled to re-apply for an AUD-sponsored residence visa. Accordingly, the students will forfeit their Passport Security Deposit.
