This session from the CRID Webinar Series will host Architect Sou Fujimoto, principal of Sou Fujimoto Architects.

Start Tue, Mar 29
End Tue, Mar 29

This session from the CRID Webinar Series will host Architect Sou Fujimoto, principal of Sou Fujimoto Architects. The theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” Connections are becoming more critical in an era when divisions are accelerating, including the pandemic. Osaka city is attractive. The canal and the sea are linked with easy access to the waterside space. The dynamism that drives society is a prosperous human relationship. In the coming era, a rich community will be born by people connecting, resonating with each other, overlapping diversities. In that respect, such a relationship in Osaka could be described as modern, and the city will link with the Expo site. The Expo venue should be a positive place for the future society. The future image unique to 2025 will be embodied so that the visitors can see and feel it. The Expo is a special event where many countries gather in real life, including culture, which is why it’s priceless. The goal is to create a special place where various countries can get together to show their diversity and resonate with each other. “Unity in diversity,” the design aims to create such a memorable landscape.
