You can apply during the Fall or Spring semesters of your second (sophomore) or third (junior) year at AUD. A minimum of 30 credit hours must be completed at AUD before applying.

The minimum GPA required to apply is 2.5.

You may apply for:

• Exchange Program (pay tuition at AUD)
• Study Abroad Program (fee-paying) (pay tuition at the host university)

• A full semester abroad
• A short-term summer program

• For Exchange Programs, you must select from AUD’s official partner universities.
• If your preferred university is not on the partner list, you may apply through the Study Abroad Program, where tuition is paid directly to the host institution.

Courses taken at the host university will be transferred as credits only if they are pre-approved by your school and are equivalent to courses in your degree plan. Successful completion of the courses is required.

• Meet with the Study Abroad Office
• Meet with your academic advisor
• Submit your application through the Registrar Portal under Course Authorization

Fall Semester:

• AUD Application Deadline: 25th of February
• Host University Deadline: March – May

• AUD Application Deadline: 25th of August
• Host University Deadline: October – November

You can register for up to 5 courses (15 CH) during a semester abroad.

You can take a maximum of 2 major courses abroad; therefore, you take the remaining 3 elective courses, or you take the full 5 courses.

Some universities provide housing at a fee, and some others don’t. Students should look for an apartment to rent.

Yes, you need to apply for a student visa unless you have residency in the country where you will be studying. AUD cannot help with the visa processing.
