Mr. Iyad Alsabouni was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication (Foundation/Game Design) at the American University in Dubai in 2023. With over 20 years of professional experience as an artist, he began as an animator but soon discovered his true passion in computer graphics and concept art. He has worked with game studios in Japan and indie developers worldwide, accumulating extensive experience and knowledge in the field of entertainment design. Combining this expertise with his deep appreciation for classical art, he believes that foundational knowledge transcends tools and technology, and he always aims to bring back the poetic quality of traditional art into his digital artworks.

As a researcher, Mr. Iyad's work centers on the relationship between visual interpretation and creativity. His research aims to uncover methods for engaging individuals without artistic backgrounds in the creative process through the use of visual stimuli. His work is based on the idea that creativity is not solely a deliberate effort; instead, it thrives on serendipitous discoveries and encounters often overlooked among art learners.

In his free time, Mr. Iyad enjoys immersive video games, but even more so, he enjoys experimenting with new technologies and unconventional digital methods of artistic expression.
