Students in IDES 292, “Interior Design Studio IV Space Planning and Universal Design,” were given the opportunity to work on a real-world design problem; finding solutions to renovate the AUD Residential Halls.
The project “Reimagine AUD Residential Halls,” was launched in 2022 by Professor Chadi El Tabbah, Associate Professor of Interior Design.
Proposals were reviewed by the Office of Student Affairs, Resident Assistants, and Interior Design faculty. All of the projects presented innovative and beautiful solutions, yet one group presented a wonderful solution that contained a balance between practicality and design.
Thasneem Abuthahir and Joud Kayali left an exceptionally positive impression on the jury with their professionalism and thoroughness with which they considered the needs of various users. The ideas they presented will be used as the basis for consideration in the future renovations to the AUD Halls.
