On Monday, April 21, at 1 pm, the winners of the 10th Annual Reading Across Campus Poster Competition were announced in the AUD Library. The competition called for students to read and respond to the RAC novel of the year, The House on Mango Street, by Sandra Cisneros. This year, we had 17 entries that were exhibited around campus and voted on by the university community at large. The popular prize winner, Noha Hammoud, received a 100 AED Gift Certificate from the Mall of the Emirates. In addition, the Jury Prize winner, Natalia Owens Lopez, selected by the RAC committee and friends of the committee, received a 200 AED certificate from the Mall of the Emirates. Her poster will join previous winners of the Jury Prize and go on permanent display in the AUD Library. Finally, our Honorable Mention winner, Emanuelle Nafaa, who came in second in both competitions, received a Certificate of Achievement (as did all the winners) from the School of Arts and Sciences. The presentation was attended by Professors Petra Merhy, Graphic Design, and Darrel Lloyd Perkins, Visual Communication, who appear in the accompanying photos with their respective students. Congratulations to our winners!
