The American University in Dubai (AUD) soared to remarkable victories at the prestigious Belgrade Sports Tournament, widely regarded as a well-recognized championship of university-level athletics. Held from April 17 to 21, 2024, in Belgrade, Serbia, this tournament drew fierce competition from universities across Europe and the Middle East.

AUD proudly fielded six student teams, participating in volleyball, football, and basketball for both male and female athletes. Among the contenders were seven esteemed Serbian universities, four Lebanese institutions, along with representatives from Italy and Croatia.

The triumph for AUD was nothing short of spectacular, as they clinched the top spot in men's volleyball and football, while securing a commendable second place in women's volleyball and a respectable third place in men's basketball.

Joseph Nohra, the Athletics Director at AUD, expressed his excitement about this win, emphasizing the unwavering support provided to the university's sports teams under the mentorship of seasoned coaches. He hailed AUD's triumph as a monumental achievement, underscoring the university's unique distinction as the sole representative from the United Arab Emirates in this prestigious competition. Nohra reiterated AUD's profound sense of pride in carrying the name of the UAE and Dubai on the international stage, culminating in this resounding victory.

The participating universities comprised a distinguished lineup, including the American University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates; University of Picosta, Italy; Croatian Economic University, Croatia; Kaslik University, Beirut Arab University, Lebanese American University, and Byblos University from Lebanon; as well as Sasaq University and Belgrade University from Serbia, and Babus University, also from Serbia.
