On April 24, 2025, the AUD Health Center hosted the Spring 2025 edition of the biannual “De-Stress Final Exams” event—an initiative aimed at promoting student wellbeing during one of the most demanding times of the academic year. This semester, intentional enhancements were made to address the evolving needs of the student community, with a stronger emphasis on mental health and emotional resilience. Recognizing the increasing academic pressures students face, the event expanded its focus to include more structured opportunities for support and dialogue.
The Academic Advising Unit (AAU) was actively represented by Ms. Carolyn Harley, Senior Academic Advisor and Learning Support Coordinator, who worked alongside Ms. Nehad Metawie, AUD Personal Counselor, and Ms. Hima Mammen, Adult and Adolescent Psychologist from Journey Wellness Center. Together, they offered students personalized guidance on academic challenges and strategies for managing stress and anxiety.
In addition to these valuable support services, the event maintained its tradition of relaxation and enjoyment. Organized with the support of the Student Psychology Club, the event featured complimentary treats such as ice cream, crepes, waffles, and non-alcoholic mojitos—all helping to create a welcoming, stress-free environment on campus.
This holistic approach reflects AUD’s ongoing commitment to supporting student wellbeing—particularly during high-pressure periods like finals week. Looking ahead, the Health Center and its partners remain dedicated to further expanding these efforts to meet the diverse and changing needs of the AUD student body.
