The American University in Dubai is proud to announce that a team of its students has achieved remarkable success in the regional finals of the L'Oréal Brandstorm 2025 competition, securing a position in the top 5. This outstanding achievement marks a significant leap from last year's top 10 placement, highlighting AUD's commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among its students.
The winning Team, comprised of students Jason Eid, Jad Halabi, and Victor Assaf, captivated the judges with their innovative idea, "Suntrack." Suntrack is a cutting-edge tech solution designed to revolutionize men's skincare routines by providing personalized sun protection recommendations based on individual UV exposure and skin type. The students were mentored by Dr. Farah Arkadan, Chair of the Department of Management and Marketing, whose guidance was instrumental in their success.
The L'Oréal Brandstorm 2025, in partnership with L'Oréal's Consumer Product Division, challenged participants to rewrite the rules of Beauty & Care for men. Over 35 universities from across the GCC participated, with the top 5 teams hailing from AUD, AUS, NYU-AD, and IMT. The finalist teams presented their ideas to a distinguished panel of L'Oréal executives, fielding challenging questions regarding feasibility, scalability, sustainability, inclusiveness, and key performance indicators.
Notably, AUD was one of only four universities in the region to integrate the competition into its formal courses and curriculum, demonstrating its dedication to providing students with practical, industry-relevant experiences and empowering them to become future leaders and innovators.
This success reflects AUD's ongoing commitment to Academic Excellence, Student Success, and Community engagement.
