The American University in Dubai (AUD) officially welcomed its newest cohort of distinguished faculty through an engaging New Faculty HR Orientation Session. Bringing academic expertise from some of the world’s top institutions, including Harvard, Yale, Penn, and Oxford, the incoming professors further strengthen AUD’s reputation as a leading destination for world-class education in the region.
The orientation was designed to equip new faculty with the knowledge and tools needed to seamlessly integrate into the AUD community. Sessions covered academic procedures, university policies, and the wealth of resources available to support teaching, research, and student engagement.
The program featured a welcome address by Dr. Kyle Long, President, an academic briefing by Dr. Assaad Farah, Interim Provost, a presentation from the Office of Human Resources, and insights from various administrative offices. A highlight of the day was the interactive “AUD Scenario Adventure” game, which immersed faculty in real-life campus scenarios while encouraging collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Angele El Khoury, Director of Human Resources, said:
“AUD is committed to supporting our faculty’s professional growth and fostering a strong sense of community. This orientation provides an essential foundation for the academic year, helping faculty integrate seamlessly into AUD’s programs and initiatives while encouraging active engagement in all aspects of university life.”
Beyond orientation, the day served as a platform for meaningful connections, helping establish relationships that will shape teaching, research, and student engagement in the year ahead.
