The American University in Dubai is proud to announce the winners of the 2025–2026 AUD Writing Contest, an annual competition organized by the Composition and Literature Program to recognize excellence in undergraduate writing. The contest celebrates students whose work demonstrates exceptional creativity, critical thinking, originality, and command of language. This year’s submissions reflected the remarkable diversity of voices across the AUD community, spanning personal narratives, literary criticism, research-based arguments, and creative storytelling.

Reflecting on the significance of the competition, Dr. Kristin Rozzell Murray, English Division Head and Chair of the AUD Writing Contest, stated:
“Sometimes amid the hundreds of pieces of writing that AUD English faculty read, one or two pieces rise to the top because the voice of that writer captivates us; these students are the ones we are compelled to recognize in the AUD English Writing Contest.”

The winners will be recognized during an awards ceremony in September 2026, where they will receive certificates of recognition and commemorative gifts. In addition, the Flash Fiction winner will be invited to perform their work at the AUD Spoken Word Competition in April 2027.
