AUD among first universities to support MoHESR’s automatic degree recognition initiative

Jan 14, 2026

The American University in Dubai (AUD) is proud to be among the first UAE-based higher education institutions supporting the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s (MoHESR) automatic recognition initiative, which enables graduates to receive immediate recognition of their degrees, contributing to zero government bureaucracy and improving efficiency across the UAE’s higher education system.

Following the Ministry’s announcement on 14 January, 2026 that the automatic recognition initiative would be available at 34 universities across the UAE, it is notable that AUD has been providing automatic attestation to its graduates since June 2025, reflecting the University’s proactive approach to streamlining services.

“We are proud to be among the first institutions supporting this national shift toward streamlined, tech-enabled services. This milestone builds on AUD’s commitment to innovation in higher education. The University has been a regional leader in digital transformation, previously launching a blockchain-based transcript issuance system and the Digital Passport, which securely stores graduates’ verified credentials, including transcripts, Dean’s List certificates, and now attested diplomas,” said Mrs. Matilda Jabbour, Registrar at the American University in Dubai.

A key feature of the system is its auto-payment capability, which allows the University to efficiently process attestations and settle the required fees directly with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

AUD has fully aligned with the initiative, ensuring that all requested diplomas and transcripts are automatically attested at no cost to graduates. By leveraging technology to reduce administrative steps, AUD continues to provide efficient, student-focused services that align with national priorities and labour market needs.
