AUD’s Management Division won first place at the Sixth UAE Undergraduate Research Competition
The American University in Dubai, in the Management Division, has won first place at the Sixth UAE Undergraduate Research Competition. The competition was held on April 30th at the Abu Dhabi University under the patronage of his H.E. Hussein Al Hammadi, UAE Minister of Education.

The winning students were: Youssef Aboutaleb, Badreddine Boutaty, Maria El Maydaa and Mohamad Hammoud

The academic research that won first place discussed: The Benefits and Challenges of the Adoption of Blockchain in the MENA region.

Dr. Elissar Toufaily, Associate Professor of Marketing at AUD and mentor of the winning team commented: “this year, the committee has received an astounding number of papers, with more than 350 projects submitted from over 30 universities across the UAE.  Our students went through 3 steps before winning the first place: from submitting an abstract, to submitting a paper and finally to presenting the paper. At the final stage of this process, they were competing with 17 other teams in the Management track. Our students won a monetary prize also, that will be distributed among them.”

The School of Business Administration at AUD is proud of their students’ accomplishment in winning first place in the scientific research competition. Dr. Toufaily mentioned that “research is an integral part of university education; it instills life-long learning and enhances career opportunities for our young generation.
