L’Oreal Brandstorm competition
The American University of Dubai’s (AUD) marketing team from SBA is pleased to announce that they have won the runner-up position at the L'Oréal's Brandstorm Competition in the MENA. From the participating teams, one AUD student team qualified for the semi-finalist round and one student team qualified for the final round. The Brandstorm Competition is L'Oréal's unique business competition that lasts 4 months during which 52 teams from 22 Universities unleash their creativity and apply ground-breaking ideas to one of L'Oréal's international brands and distribution channels.
AUD had three semi-finalists students; Tarek Achi and Carmen Al Bittar and Nour Ibrahimi who were mentored by Dr. Obeidat throughout the intense competition. Dr. Obeidat is extremely proud of his students’ ability to think outside of the box in designing unique marketing strategies to gain advantage against competition such as American University in Sharjah and Zayed University.
AUD’s team named “LORA” was made up of AUD students Carla Chami, Joanna El Ghorayeb and Kareem Halabi who contended against the other finalist team from the KSA. Both teams were given 30 minutes to work on their marketing plan just before they presented it to the judges. Both teams were extremely competitive in their marketing strategies. AUD’s team did not take first place but were shortlisted for L'Oréal's graduate program and internship program. The Brandstorm competition was a singular opportunity that challenged students to apply theoretical frameworks from classrooms into practice.
