AUD student wins at Herman Miller competition
Moawada Afifi is one of three winners at the design competition.

I am very pleased to announce that our Interior Design student Mowada Afifi is one of the three winners of the Herman Miller Student Competition 2017.
She won the coveted internship at Perkins+Will, international leading Interior Design & Architecture firm. We are all so happy!
Marya Merchant and Sruthi Sritharan, AUD Interior Design Students, received Special Mentions for their work.
The competition focused on learning spaces and users, evidence-based design and re-design of identified learning spaces.
The final event and award ceremony was held yesterday at Herman Miller Head Office in Dubai; Mowada’s projects is outstanding and received only excellent comments from the Jury, composed by:
·         Oliver Baxter, Herman Miller Insight Programme Manager, Insight Group – MEA, Living Office Specialist;
·         APID Director Dr. Dolly Doau;  
·         Diane Torsen, Principal Perkins+Will;
·         Christina Morgan, Director Interior Design Pallavi Dean Interiors;
·         Stuart Allen, Managing Director & Founder at Allen Architecture Interiors Design AAID
AUD Interior Design students competed against the following UAE Universities: Heriot-Watt, AUS, Manipal University, Ajman University with a total of 62 students participating:
21 from AUD (4 AUD ID students selected for the finals), 30 from Heriot-Watt University , 8 from AUS, 2 from Manipal University, 1 from Ajman University.
The supervision of AUD ID faculty, together with student talent, engagement and hard work, payed off.
