School of Business Administration Outreach Program
Building on AUD’s network to expose students to the best
17/04/2017

The Student Retention and Success Office and the School of Business Administration have launched an outreach program, aimed at inviting business leaders to interact with students and share experiences as well as promote internships and job opportunities.

Ms. Tala Makhlouf, Director of Student Retention and Success and Special Assistant to the EVP commented on the events between the SBA and her office mentioning that, “based on collaboration and partnership between the School and the Career Services Division, we were able to host successful events, which have led to reinforcing our ties with leading organizations. Through those events, the School was able to build more credibility as to its students’ commitments and readiness and was able to promote more motivation into students which was interpreted in the Career Fair during, which all employers this year vouched for the remarkable difference they observed when it comes to our students' interaction with them.”

The events to date have included a session with Nestlé on succession planning, the L’Oréal Playoffs - a session on tips and advice on the do’s and don’ts in their assessment centers, a workshop with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on CV writing and preparing for interviews, a session with Procter & Gamble on legal issues in UAE and making the jump from academia to the real world, and a panel discussion organized with Dubai Future Accelerators on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Assaad Farah, Associate Dean of the School of Business Administration at AUD commented that “one of the goals for the school is to maintain a close relationship with the business community. Working with the Office of Student Retention and Success and their Career Services Division is allowing our students to develop and maintain a competitive advantage in the emerging employment market, by exposing them to leaders in their fields - potential future employers.”
