about the library
Director’s Message

PresidentWelcome to the Library’s webpages. I hope you will find it informative and helpful.

The Library is the soul of the university. It should be your focal point for obtaining information to produce academic success. The Library exists to provide information resources and services to support the instructional programs of the university and to support the research and staff development needs of faculty and staff. To achieve these goals, the Library provides a rich and varied collection of print and electronic resources. The book collection contains over 100,000 print and e-books; over 70 databases are provided for research with access both on-campus and off-campus; printing, scanning, photocopying and three computer labs are available; the Library also accommodates both wired and wireless computer access. The Library also puts an emphasis on customer service. Please offer suggestions, book requests and other ideas that may improve our services.

AUD places a very high priority on the Library and it shows. The brand new Millennium Library automation software is cutting edge and provides various innovative features. Even more exciting is the plan to expand the library next year. The size of the library will triple as three additional floors are added. The expansion will provide additional study rooms, new service areas, computer labs and more room for books and subscriptions.

The Library staff is well-trained, courteous and knowledgeable. We do our best to help you reach your potential by providing the resources, instruction and the services you need. And remember the best way to learn is to READ!

Good luck and study hard,

Dave Moinette
