Library Advisory Committee
Mission

The Library Advisory Committee serves as a liaison between the Library and the university community, its academic departments, its non-academic units and the student body.

Purpose

The Library Advisory Committee provides input, feedback and recommendations to the Library regarding library resources, policies, collection development and strategic planning. The committee members, in turn, ensure that information from the Library is brought to the attention of their respective departments or units.

Meetings

The Library Advisory Committee meets once a month with the date and time decided by the Director of Library Services.

Selection and Term of Service

Representatives are selected by each department. They are not appointed. Committee members serve for one academic year (September through August). They may continue their service for more than one year. If a committee member leaves during their term of service, the head of the unit to which the departing committee member belongs may appoint someone from within the unit to serve the remainder of the year.
