BioDesign Revelation: The Living Box and The Microworld of Leaves at AUD, where Interior Design Meets Biology

Discover the captivating blend of art and science in 'The Living Box and The Microworld of Leaves' project, a collaboration between interior design and biology at AUD. Led by Prof. Chadi El Tabbah in the IDES 292 – Studio IV course, this initiative explores innovative design solutions inspired by nature's intricate leaf patterns and textures. Meet Khaled and Sara, a young biologist couple passionate about integrating their love for nature into their Dubai home. Supported by Dr. Muriel T. Zaatar, Chair of the Department of Biological and Physical Sciences, the project aims to harmonize human comfort with organic inspiration. Located at the scenic Palm Jumeirah, the Living Box offers a canvas for creativity within its dimensions. From the entrance facing North to the breath-taking view of the water from the South, space planning and human factors are studied and implemented to serve the needs of the client.

You can visit the student posters and models displayed at the School of Architecture, Art, and Design exhibition hall.

The interior design department is immensely proud of the amazing work produced by its students.
