If I graduated from an English speaking high school, do I need to submit a TOEFL or sit for the English Placement test at AUD? |
You are required to submit the International TOEFL or sit for the English Placement Exam at AUD. Exam dates are posted on AUD's web-site prior to the beginning of each semester. |

I did not do the SAT 1 exam. Can I take the University's Math Placement Exam? |
You can do the Math placement exam at AUD instead of SAT I. Exam dates are posted on AUD's web-site prior to the beginning of each semester. Engineering students have to take both the SAT I and Math placement exam. Required score: min. CR320 and min. Math 560 (combined score of CR & Math should be at least 1000). |

Do I need to take the computer proficiency exam at AUD? |
Only engineering students are required to sit for the computer exam. |

When can I take the University Placement Exams? |

If I apply and pay the reservation deposit, can I postpone my enrollment? What will happen to the non-refundable deposit paid? |
You can postpone your enrollment to another semester and the deposit will be applied to the new semester. If you cancel your application, the deposit is non-refundable. However, the amount will remain on your account and applied towards tuition fees, should you decide to join at a later date. The deposit is only refundable, if you are not granted admissions to AUD. |

When should I apply for the fall term? I am in my final year of high school, and I will graduate in May/June? |
Early applications will be given priority for conditional acceptance. This offer will be extended as a result of achievements accomplished in your previous years, pending submission of all required documents upon graduation. We recommend you apply once your 1st semester grades are out in your final year. |

When is the deadline to submit my application?
|
The deadline for the Fall semester is
August 10th. The deadline for
the Spring semester is December 21st.

Can I transfer my credits from AUD to
another university?
|
AUD is recognized worldwide, accredited by
the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
in the United States and is recognized by the
Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific
Research in the United Arab Emirates. Transfer
policies differ between universities. Students
need to check the transfer policy of the university
they wish to transfer to and contact the university
directly to make transfer arrangements.

If I apply today and I need a resident
student visa, can AUD provide me with one?
|
Students who wish to obtain a residence visa
from AUD should be accepted and enrolled full
time. Visa processing begins one month before
the start of each semester.

Can I work at the University while I study?
|
We have limited job offers available on campus.
The "Careers Office" can provide you with leads
and guidance to find part - time or promotional
jobs while you are studying.

Do you provide any facilities regarding
a visa, should I want to transfer to a university
in the USA or Canada?
|
AUD does not provide any facilities for visa
arrangements to the USA, Canada or any other
country. Students will need to contact the universities
in those countries that they are interested
in transferring to and apply for the visa on
their own accord with the particular embassy
of interest.

Do you have housing accommodation on campus?
|
Housing accommodation is available with limited
spaces. Students are recommended to pay for
the dorms deposit upon admissions and should
follow up with the housing manager for spaces
availability.

How many letters of recommendation do
I need?
|
One letter of recommendation is required
from high school teacher. The letter should
be stamped by the school.
|

When is the admissions office open?
|
Sunday to Thursday - 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

| Transfer
Students |
What do you consider
"official transcripts"?
|
Transcripts are considered official when
they are submitted to Admissions in a sealed envelope stamped
by the college/university. Transcripts from non-American accredited college/university need to be stamped by the Ministry
of Education of pertaining country.

I want to transfer into one of the undergraduate
programs at AUD. Will all of my credits transfer?
|
Transfer of credits is subject to evaluation.
Students must provide AUD with official transcripts,
course descriptions and in some cases their
college/university profiles.

Graduate Students |
What are the deadlines to submit applications?
|
Applications for the Graduate program are accepted throughout the year for Fall, Spring & Summer I entering classes. To allow enough time for evaluation of applications and the selection of accepted candidates, we encourage applicants to submit their applications and required documentation in advance of the meeting dates announced under Graduate Admissions details.
Failure to submit
the application with all required documentation
before the meeting dates may result in a late
evaluation.

Do I need to take the International TOEFL?
|
All students need to submit TOEFL scores.
TOEFL may be waived in the following cases
1) If the student completed his undergraduate
education at an accredited/recognized English
medium institution, provided that there is evidence
that the undergraduate institution has a TOEFL
requirement of 500 or higher.
2) If the student is a native English speaker,
who have completed their undergraduate education
in an accredited/recognized English medium institution
in a country where English is the official language.

When are the Graduate classes held?
|
Classes are held in the evening. Each class
meets once a week from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

How many hours of English instruction
will I receive each week ?

Students attend classes four hours a day
/ five days per week.

How will my level of English be determined
?
|
This will be determined by our University
entrance exam.

Can I go to university once I complete
the IELP Program?
|
Students who wish to seek a degree at AUD
upon completion of the IELP program have to
submit all the necessary documents for the Admissions
Committee to review. In addition, students have
to take the international TOEFL and score a
minimum of 550 ( CAT 213) + TWE of 4.0 or take
the Internet-based TOEFL and score a minimum
of 79-80 + writing skills range 24-30.

| Scholarship
Program |
Are scholarships available every
semester ?
|
Scholarships are available only for the Fall
semester of each academic year.
|

If I am a transfer student, am I allowed
to apply for a scholarship?
|
Scholarships are not offered to transfer students. However, students with a GPA of 3.0 or above applying as transfer students to the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication Arabic Track option, may be eligible for the School’s scholarship if they meet the admissions critteria.
