Raya started her career as a translator of documentary, dramatic, and cartoons television scripts from English to Arabic. She was also a direct verbal translator of presentations from English to Arabic in front of a potential client audience.

Raya worked as a reporter covering events, conferences, and seminars in Hiteck Magazine- Lebanon.

She also organized campaigns and programs that created environmental awareness for high school students in Lebanon. She worked with the UN on an environment development project and submitted a research paper.

Raya taught in the International School of Choueifat, and she worked as a school administrator explaining the school system to parents. Part of her job was also interviewing and evaluating new students.

Raya joined AUD end of 2005 as the Housing Manager.
