AUD offers a number of leadership programs for students. These programs provide students with an array of key skills that will help them to develop as the leaders of tomorrow. Through AUD's leadership programs, students develop leadership, management, public speaking, and public relations skills.
Student Ambassadors
AUD Student Ambassadors (SAs) are students who offer support to AUD through public relations, admissions support and events management. Student Ambassadors' major responsibility is to advocate, promote and showcase AUD and its programs in a professional and exemplary manner.
Student Orientation Leaders
Student Orientation Leaders (OLs) assist in all new student orientation programs. Orientation Leaders welcome new students and their parents to AUD and facilitate the transition of new students into the academic, social, extracurricular, and cultural dimensions of the AUD experience. Orientation Leaders acts as group facilitators during orientation and acquaint new students with campus activities, facilities, rules, procedures, and policies.
Student Life Associates Student Life Associates (SLAs) channel their creativity and enthusiasm into creating, organizing, and implementing student activities and events. SLAs work directly with the Student Activities Coordinator. SLAs explore and implement various types of students activities and events designed to enhance student life at the University.
Peer Tutors
Peer Tutors (PTs) provide academic support and encouragement for those students who are experiencing academic distress. Tutors assist students with content-related issues and questions and discuss and provide novel and creative approaches for difficult academic concepts and problem areas. All tutors must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or above and have attained an "A" or "B" in the class in which they are providing assistance.
Resident Assistants
AUD Resident Assistants (RAs) provide an administrative link between housing residents and the Housing Office. RAs help dorm residents with personal problems, roommate conflicts and other dorm-related issues. RAs keep the Housing Office advised of dorm residents' concerns and issues. They play a major role in presenting dorm programs that provide residents with a variety of educational, cultural, recreational, and social activities.
Student Champions
Student Champions (SC) are an enthusiastic, dedicated and professional team of student leaders who support the University's sports event. The champions represent the University at tournaments, activities and intramurals events. They work with the Athletics Coordinator to help organize and plan athletic events and programs for all students. Students chosen to participate as Champions have the opportunity to develop their leadership and management skills, assist the teams, help the coaches and develop their experience in sports. |
