AUD faculty, staff and their families, currently registered AUD students and AUD alumni with AUD Alumni Association membership may borrow materials. AUD ID cards are required when checking out materials. Each borrower is responsible for all items checked out in their name/ID number.

For items not held by AUD in print or electronic format, AUD faculty, staff and students are able to request books and receive photocopies of journal articles from the British Library . It will take 7 to 10 days for items to arrive, longer if items are on loan. Books are on loan for 25 days and may be renewed upon approval from the British Library.
Limits may be applied:
- 3 requests per term for faculty and staff
- 2 requests per term for students
- To see if a book or journal is available at AUD, please check the Library Catalog or the A-Z Index or the Online Databases .
- If AUD does not have the item, then check the British Library Catalog:

- Click on Search
- Click ¦ Document Supply Material
- Type the title of book or journal; for
- books you can also use author or subjects
- Click on Submit Search (left column)
- Look for your book/journal
- Click on [number]
- Evaluate - is this the book/journal you want•If so:
1. For a book
- Record details for the book : title, author, publisher, date, ISBN etc. (copy and paste the full record)
- Deliver to the Satish Ranjalkar or
- To email: Copy and paste the title information and email it to Satish at: library@aud.edu or sranjalkar@aud.edu
- In the message include your name, email address and phone number, and the date needed by.
2. For a journal article
BPL will only list the title of the journal - you must supply the additional information, such as article name, author, volume, issue, date and pages.
- Record details of the journal title, author, article title, page nos., date, volume and issue
- [DELETE:To email: Copy and paste the title/issn information from BPL.] Email complete details on the journal and article to Satish at: library@aud.edu or sranjalkar@aud.edu
- Don't forget! You must include in the message the article name, author, volume, issue, date, pages, your name, email address and phone number, and the date needed by.

The Library Instructional Sessions teach students about library resources in a particular subject area and services available in the library. For example, if a professor has given an assignment on "human resource practices", the instructional session would teach students how to use the full range of our information resources on this topic.

Library Orientation
Library orientation is integrated into the freshman course, UNIV 101, The University Experience. Students learn about library services, different types of information resources, how to search the catalog and online databases.
