Students choosing The American University in Dubai (AUD) will find it is committed to fostering intercultural understanding; indeed, it is a core part of its institutional mission. This commitment to a broad international perspective is demonstrated through its courses; the exchange programs available to students; the many activities and organizations that promote appreciation for cultural diversity; and the presence on campus every year of over 100 study-abroad students from all across the U.S. and around the world.

During student visits to AUD, they engage in many social and cultural activities that provide them with ample opportunities to meet and interact positively with fellow students from around the world. This gives them the unique chance to learn and experience many different cultures and to engage in an open exchange of opinions and ideas.

Upon completion of students’ course work; they will have added an international dimension to their formal education, while fulfilling academic requirements that will transfer credit back to their home institutions. In addition, students will have had a memorable experience that will greatly influence and expand their worldviews.

For a student to truly get the most of their AUD experience, they must get involved. Whether it’s through joining a club, or starting one of their own or perhaps creating a special one-of-a-kind event, these are just some of the ways you can become involved in student life at AUD.

Student activities include: 33 active student clubs ranging from cultural clubs, performance clubs, special interest clubs, departmental clubs; in addition to active intramurals held each term and numerous annual events including a WOW Orientation (Week of Welcome), AUD Desert Safari, Ramadan Tent, Winter Ball, Thanksgiving Day and UAE National Day, International Night, AUD Gala Dinner and Award Ceremony among others.
