The School of Engineering at the American University in Dubai encompasses three academic departments. All our programs are accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in the UAE. The School of Engineering encourages a cross-disciplinary approach to education and places prime importance on quality and hands-on experimentation. As such our students often interact with faculty and fellow students across other departments throughout their educational journey.

Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering Program at AUD prepares students for careers in structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, transportation, or construction engineering. Our graduates have taken on responsibilities as project managers and design engineers in charge of constructing high-rise buildings, roads and bridges, port facilities, and real estate development projects. Our student trainees work on exciting engineering projects such as Nakheel's Palm Islands , Downtown Burj Dubai, and DFIC.

Computer Engineering

The Computer Engineering Program at AUD prepares students for careers in hardware and software engineering. Over the past three years, our students have consistently placed ahead of other universities in the region at national and regional competitions. Many of our graduates have secured graduate school admission at prestigious universities including Cornell University , Stanford University , and the University of Michigan.

Electrical Engineering

The Electrical Engineering Program at AUD prepares students for careers in communication engineering, power systems, and energy engineering. Our students have been at the forefront of national and regional activities, and have won numerous IEEE awards. Several alumni are currently studying for master's and Ph.D. degrees at such prestigious institutions as the National University of Singapore and McGill University.
