Prior to joining AUD, Professor Rao worked as VP Market Risk Management with Citigroup , India . He has over 5 years of university teaching experience and 8 years of industry experience in software and banking. He has worked in areas such as risk analysis and stress-testing of exotic derivatives, testing alternative term structure models for valuing interest rate derivatives, and financial software development and implementation.

His research has been published in journals such as Economics Letters, Managerial Finance, and the Journal of Public Works Management and Policy. He has presented papers at various conferences including Academy of Business Disciplines Conference ( Florida , 2000) and Applied Business Research Conference ( Cancun , 2001). His research interests include Banking and Financial Risk Management.
