For Over four years, both at the Louisiana State University and the American University in Dubai , Professor Al-Azzam has taught many courses in economics including microeconomics, macroeconomics, money and banking, industrial organization, and managerial economics. Professor Al-Azzam's current research focuses on microfinance and group lending efforts in Jordan , the Middle East and elsewhere. In his dissertation, he collected a unique data set in an attempt to understand the repayment behavior of borrowers in group lending institutions. Professor Al-Azzam's work has been presented in international conferences including the Northeast Universities Development Consortium Conference and the Southern Economic Association.
