The Accounting and Finance programs within the School of Business Administration prepare students for the exciting and challenging fields of accounting and finance. The accounting and finance curricula are structured in such a way, that students develop the necessary skills which enable them to succeed professionally.
Accountants primarily work in certified public accounting firms, large and small businesses, law firms, property management companies, banks and other financial institutions, as well as government agencies. The role of the accountant has changed immensely over the past three decades. In addition to their traditional roles as auditors, financial analysts and cash management specialists, accountants have now become essential members of companies' executive management teams. They oftentimes assist in developing business strategies, long-term and short-term financial projections, as well as human resource projections.
Finance specialists, on the other hand, focus on the methods by which monetary and non-monetary resources are acquired and allocated throughout the global economy. At AUD we provide finance students with a state-of-the-art education, both theoretical and practical. An example of this is the Reuters-AUD Trading Room. The Reuter-AUD Trading Room provides students with real-time access to the world's financial markets, by utilizing some of the latest information technologies. Finance graduates are prepared for careers in financial reporting and analysis, investment and portfolio management, corporate finance, as well as international trade and finance. Moreover, with faculty assistance, finance and accounting students may design programs of study which best prepares them for CPA, CMA, CFA, CFP and other professional certification. |
