You are cordially invited to participate in and attend the International Symposium on Database Operations and Developments Technologies and Systems to be held April 18th & 19th, 2010 at The American University in Dubai, Dubai, U.A.E. The Symposium is to address, explore and exchange information on the state-of-the-art in database operations, their modeling and simulation, design and use, and their impact. Participation is extended to academics, researchers, designers, companies and interested parties in all database disciplines and specialties.
The Symposium will include invited presentations by experts from academia, industry, and government as well as contributed paper presentations describing original work on the current state of research in database operations, development, systems, applications and related issues. There will also be tutorial sessions, workshops, special sessions, demos, panel discussions, posters sessions, Telepresence Seminars and panel discussions, and exhibits. Conference sponsorships are welcomed.
For information or questions about Symposium's paper submission, tutorials, posters, workshops, special sessions, exhibits, demos, panels and forums organization, and any other information about the conference location, registration, paper formatting, etc., please contact the symposium moderator Dr. Mulhim Al-Doori at:

Dr. V. Anne Smith Dr Smith received her undergraduate degree in Biology with a Mathematics minor from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, after which she undertook a PhD in Animal Behaviour at Indiana University. She quickly included computational components in her doctoral work, examining social behaviour in birds from a complex systems perspective using Data Mining techniques. Her postdoctoral work at Duke University in bioinformatics applied to songbird brains introduced her to Bayesian networks, around which her current research focuses. She runs an interdisciplinary research group at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, using computational methods to examine genetic, neuronal, and ecological networks and including an experimental yeast laboratory. She is active in both SULSA (Scottish Universities Life Science Alliance) and SICSA (Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance). |

Prof. Martin Breunig Martin Breunig obtained his diploma in Computer Science from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, in 1989. From 1990-2000 he was a member of the database groups of Hans-Jörg Schek at TU Darmstadt, Heinz Schweppe at FU Berlin, and Armin B. Cremers at Bonn University. In 1995 and 2000, respectively, he obtained his Ph.D. and habilitation both at Bonn University, Germany. From 1995-2000 he was a member of the execute board at the Special Research Centre 350 at Bonn University. From 2002 - 2003 he was director of the Institute for Environmental Sciences at Vechta University. Martin Breunig was guest professor and visiting researcher at Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie Nancy, ETH Zürich, University of Vienna, Staffordshire University (UK), and Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg. Currently, he is professor for Geoinformatics at University of Osnabrück, Germany. He directs the geo-database group and several collaborative and Geotechnologien projects. |
