The American University in Dubai (AUD) held its annual Career Fair on Monday, January 21, 2008 on its university premises. The fair, entitled act now: aud careers today, attracted 59 companies interested in recruiting AUD students and graduates. As in previous years, the fair was attended by major companies specializing in Finance and Banking, Marketing, Advertising, Management, Recruitment, Engineering, Visual Communication, Graphic Design and Information Technology. The fair provided excellent opportunities for companies to connect with AUD students and alumni to discuss and interview for current and/or future career related employment and internship opportunities.
Mr. Elias Bou Saab, AUD’s Executive Vice President, welcomed the participants and toured the fair meeting the participating representatives of various local and international companies. The participants highlighted employment trends, necessary skills for different jobs, and current and future openings.
“AUD's annual Career Fair, act now: aud careers today, brings together companies interested in recruiting, and AUD graduates seeking employment. This eagerly awaited event is growing yearly as an increasing number of employers have come to realize the benefits of hiring AUD graduates. Indeed we have several AUD alumni among the recruiting employers this year! It is the ideal opportunity for employers and graduates to meet and interact.” noted Sue Hunter, the Career Services Manager at AUD.
