Faculty members from the American University in Dubai (AUD) and American University of Sharjah (AUS) are displayed some of their most creative work at Al Quolliya exhibition. The exhibition, which was launched on August 27, 2007 and until September 10, 2007, took place at Meem Gallery.
Professor Michael Bray from AUD and Professor Mark Pilkington from AUS have coordinated faculty from their respective university art/design departments for this open exhibition. Exhibitors displayed some of their recent works.
Among the disciplines presented in this exhibition are works of photography, video art, painting, textiles and sculpture. Art lovers, including friends and family, visited the exhibition and enjoyed the diverse cultural productions which were on display.
Michael Bray, Assistant Professor of Visual Communication at AUD commented: "Al Qoulliya was conceived as the beginning step of a collaboration between the Visual Communication faculties of AUD and AUS to bring together professors who are also professional practitioners in fields as various as photography, video art, painting, textiles, and sculpture. It is hoped that this collaboration will lead to further joint efforts in the future between the two faculties."
The participating exhibitors were Shoaib Nabi Ahmad, Tarek Al-Ghoussein, Amir Berbic, Michael Bray, Leone Collins, Zlatan Filipovic, Martin Giesen, Rodderick Grant, Sarah Lahti, Marcelo Lima, Zara Mahmood, Mark Pilkington, Raymond Prucher, Saba Qizilbash, Phil Sheil, Seth Thompson and Julia Townsend.
