American University in Dubai Interior Design students participated in Index 2007 which took place from November 1 until 5, 2007 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. The exhibition, which is held annually in Dubai, is the leading event for interior design. This year, companies from Europe, America, the Middle East and the Far East participated in the exhibition.
His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Governmental Sector Development visited AUD's booth and met with the professors and participating students.
Dr. Linda Nubani, Assistant Professor of Interior Design at AUD commented: “There are more than $1 trillion worth of planned projects in the region, which makes participating in such a world-class exhibition an important opportunity for our students to be recognized by this growing industry. The exhibition also introduces global companies and organizations to the type of projects our students are capable of delivering and preparing them for their professional life. ”
Over 25 employers offered AUD students the opportunity to work for them in Dubai and abroad upon their graduation. Some employers expressed interest in purchasing the projects that were displayed at the stand. |
