Nineteen students of the Visual Arts Department at The American University in Dubai displayed some of their most creative work at St:Art (Student Art) exhibition. The exhibition, which was launched on May 28, 2007 and runs until June 10, 2007, is taking place at Meem Gallery. It was arranged to highlight the Fine Arts aspect of the Visual Communications (VC) program.  The VC department has concentrations in Graphic Design, Photography, and Advertising and uses Fine Arts courses to supplement these areas.  

Among the disciplines presented in this exhibition were works of digital art, paintings and drawings. Art lovers, including AUD students and their friends, visited the exhibition and enjoyed the diverse cultural productions of the students which were on display.

The exhibition has been organized and curated by Michael Bray, Assistant Professor of Visual Communications. Students who participated in the exhibition are: Madiha Muzaffar, Akram Al Amoudi, Nadia Al Hamidi, Angelica Yassine, Mohammed Al Sudairy, Sabiha Ramzanali, Salwa Nahouli, Norah Awad, Robert Durrant, Dalal Habib, Arshaan Sarang, Dana Jamal,. Natalie Abu Hosn, Lara Fattouh, Irene Baghdadi, Alma Kamal, Muna Mohammed, Arezou Karoubi, and Dany El Eid.

Michael Bray commented:" Our future plans are to open a School of Art , Design, and Architecture, so in preparation for this, we chose work that is in the realm of Fine Arts as opposed to pure design work.  The work covers a range from traditional methods such as representational painting and drawing to more contemporary modes such as digital media, performance, installation, and exploration of photography as an art form.  Future concentrations will include sculpture, painting, and digital media, and it is hoped that this exhibition will draw attention to the artistic endeavors of students at the American University in Dubai . "

It is worth mentioning that the exhibition is open from Saturdays through Wednesdays from 9:30a.m. until 6:30p.m. and Thursdays from 9:30a.m. until 2:00p.m.
